Yoga for Complementary Cancer Therapy

When done individually or in sequence these practices have benefits during and after cancer treatment. These practices are meant to be a complementary therapy in support of other treatments. With regular practice, one can benefit from them and find relief. Among yoga’s benefits it can enhance your immune system and while not a cure for cancer, practicing this sequence can lead you to feel better and speed recovery.


A full Complementary Cancer Therapy Workshop includes 16 hours of instruction. Meditations for health and peace are included throughout the workshop. Clients conclude the workshop with a 90 minute daily home practice. If they choose, clients can extend aspects of the practice or add meditations if they so choose.


Individual practices are beneficial and can be learned one by one. The most benefit comes in practicing the full sequence. When approaching complementary cancer therapy, Upa Yoga is the best place to start, then meditation breath and sound. Other practices can be added to further speed recovery.


Periodic practice sessions are offered to enhance and deepen practice.

Upa Yoga Complete – Bring yourself to ease

5-6 hours - Taught in 2-3 sessions this series rejuvenates the body by activating the joints, muscles and energy system. The practice enhances the spine and improves flexibility of body and mind and brings ease to the human system.


Surya Kriya – Align with the power of the sun within

7 hours - Learn this powerful practice in 2-3 sessions and realize many benefits including developing and improving mental clarity and focus, remedying weak constitutions, boosting vigor and vitality, and balancing hormonal levels in the body.

Meditation, Breath and Sound – Balance your system

90 min - Bring balance to your mind, activity, emotions as well as the impact you have on others in this single session. Meditation, breath work (Pranayam) and sound (Mantra yoga) lead to harmony and balance in the system. This harmony and balance allows one to go through whatever happens in this live with ease.

Surya Shakti – Improve immunity and boost vigor

3.5 hours – In one session learn Surya Shakti, an active form of the Sun Salutation. It is designed as a holistic process for wellbeing, health and fitness. Surya Shakti strengthens the heart, tones the digestive system, and lubricates joints. Effective in balancing the system on many levels, Surya Shakti develops mental clarity and focus, corrects hormonal imbalances and strengthens muscles.


Bhuta Shuddhi – Cleansing the Five Elements Within

90 min - Bhuta Shuddhi is the ultimate detoxification system that cleanses the human system at an elemental level. Fundamentally the human system is made up of the five elements – earth, water, wind, fire and space. The wellbeing of the body and mind can be established by purifying the five elements within the human system, leading to harmony and balance. This session is optional and is very supportive for cancer patients.
